Pole Dancing Classes
Pole Dancing classes are springing up everywhere; to join a class is simply a matter of looking in your local press or on the internet. Some classes are held in clubs that have pole dancing as entertainment, whilst others are taught in purpose built studios. There are classes for beginners and advanced dancers alike and often you’ll find a taster session to see if Pole Dancing is right for you before you sign up for classes. Taster sessions are about 2 hours long, and in them you’ll learn some of the basics together with some dance moves, which can be put together into a short routine, these are a really great starting place.
Pole Dancing Classes are split into levels from beginners to advanced, so there will be a class that is suitable for all abilities. The number of levels varies from studio to studio, some have beginner, intermediate and advanced levels or Bronze, Silver and Gold, whilst others teach in levels 1 to 8, regardless of what they’re called you will find a suitable class. This is what you can expect from the levels.
Beginner’s levels.
Beginner classes are designed to introduce the basic pole dancing movements around the pole, as well as some dance routines and choreography, with the aim of building up your strength to be able to start some pole climbs and slides.
Intermediate levels.
This is where the fun really starts, building on the beginner levels, these classes introduce pole inversions (yes it’s time to get upside down), new types of pole spins and move transitions, as well as more complex dance choreography. At this level with your new found strength and stamina, you can really go for it.
Advanced levels.
Focussing on perfecting the pole moves and introducing even more advanced tricks and transitions, this level is for the most skilled dancers. At this level you’ll be able to demonstrate the entire range of pole dancing techniques to consider competing and or maybe qualifying as an instructor.
There are even Pole Dancing Videos giving online lessons that are a great supplement to the class sessions, giving you the chance to practise before attending the next one.
Often you’ll find classes that have more levels than the three above, and you are sure to find a suitable class for you. Pole Dancing classes are fantastic fun; you’re bound to get hooked.
